Friedewald, Mauden and
Hillesmühle
This year we had the incredible privilege of spending a week in the
centuries old "Schloss Friedewald", in the heart of the Lina Brebach and Richard
Kaiser homeland. A reunion of some American and German Kaiser and Brebach cousins. We
stayed in the castle and took day trips to Hillesmühle, Waldbröl, Mauden and other
important locations in our family history. A boat trip down the Rhine river, a raft
on the Hillesmühle creek, wagon ride in the Nutscheid hills, pizza baked in the original
ancestor's oven and many other delightful experiences made for an unforgettable week.
