doll making directions - Added 06 Feb 2008

1.    The doll's shape is just like a gingerbread man shape, and about 18" high.

2.    For the face, you can use buttons for the eyes and embroidery thread for the other features.

3.    Also, you can use embroidery thread to stitch a heart onto the chest.  I think yarn is the best thing for the hair
and colorful fabric can be used if you want to make clothes.

4.    Cut out two doll-shapes from black fabric, sew on the features, and then sew around the doll's body
(putting the two pieces together) but leave the top of the head open.  When you sew the two pieces together,
sew them with the doll inside out, and then when only the top of the head is left open, (or under the arm pit)
flip it right-side-out so that the edge stitching is on the inside of the doll.

5.    Next, fill the doll with stuffing and sew the top of the head shut.

6.    You can then sew yarn onto the doll's head as hair and make clothes for it if you want.
